MILWAUKEE – It’ll be a ‘boys night’ at Pat Murphy’s place on Tuesday evening. The Brewers manager intends to watch the All Star Game with his sons, he told WTMJ.
“My son (who’s a minor leaguer) is in town from San Antonio and my other two boys are here so we’ll make a night of it,” Murphy told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News. (Click the player, scrub to 15:00 to hear the interview).

All the talk has been about the selection of Jacob Misiorowski, despite his small body of work in the majors. Was Murphy surprised the rookie phenom was selected?
“Surprised? Yea, maybe a little bit surprised,” the manager explained. “There are plenty of guys who didn’t get selected. (But) it isn’t about who’s deserving, it’s about what the fans want to see. (Misiorowski) had no choice but to say ‘yes.'”
When the Brewers return to work after break, Murphy admitted coaches will need to monitor the rookie’s innings.
“We’ve got to keep an eye on things,” he explained. “Miz’s body is not fully matured. We’ll have to monitor it.”
