Doctors, nurses, health care workers and first responders are risking their lives to save others in the coronavirus pandemic. That same worldwide outbreak is leading to many seniors being unable to spend time with loved ones.
That’s where you can help.
WTMJ partner Kapco Metal Stamping has set up Hero Mail Call to help.
“We reflected a bit on some of the things we like to help in the community on,” said Jim Kacmarcik, the president of Kapco Metal Stamping, on WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Afternoon News.
“Let’s think about a way we can be a quarterback to call upon everybody to create mail, letters, artwork for our health care heroes and seniors.”
The step is similar to that offered to military members through their traditional “mail call.”
“The simple initiative is this. We’re going to ask everybody…to consider writing a letter, creating artwork, your whole family…that we can collect and get to our seniors who are unfortunately not able to have visitors, who are shut in at this particular point in time.”
