Wednesday brought the first coronavirus death in Wisconsin’s capital city, and the sixth in the state during the pandemic of 2020.
WTMJ news partner Channel3000.com says that someone in his 70’s passed away in Dane County.
“We are saddened by the loss of one of our community members, and we extend our sympathies to their loved ones,” Janel Heinrich, Director of Public Health Madison & Dane County, told Channel3000.com.
“COVID-19 can cause serious health complications and death, especially among older adults and people with chronic health conditions, that’s why it’s important that we all work together to prevent the spread of illness.”
Three people have died in Milwaukee County from the effects of the virus, while one person in Ozaukee County and another person from Fond du Lac County died.
