PLEASANT PRAIRIE — The Village of Pleasant Prairie is notifying the public after accidentally sending out duplicate absentee ballots.
Officials say the error occurred Monday after an election employee issued duplicate ballot packets to several voters during processing.
The employee is no longer employed by the Village.
Election officials say they are working to implement safeguards to make sure duplicate ballots are not counted.
Voters who believe they received a duplicate should contact the Village Clerk’s Office and should not submit more than one absentee ballot if they already voted.
The general election is in one week, November 3.
