MILWAUKEE — The World Series is bringing thousands of people to American Family Field, and several traffic and security measures are in place around the stadium.
Two nearby I-94 ramps will reopen for Brewers World Series games: the eastbound exit to General Mitchell Boulevard and the westbound entrance ramp from General Mitchell Boulevard.
Eric Hanson with WisDOT says the ramps will be open by 5 a.m. for home games Friday and Saturday and will remain available through Sunday.
The schedule changes for watch parties at the stadium next week. The ramps will close during the day and reopen by 3 p.m. to help traffic move in and out of the area.
Swift Gate helps manage postgame traffic
WisDOT is also continuing to use a traffic-control device called the Swift Gate near the General Mitchell Boulevard entrance ramp on westbound I-94.
The device closes the westbound lane where the entrance ramp normally merges with freeway traffic. That gives vehicles leaving the stadium a separate path onto I-94 after games and other large events.
Hanson says the device is faster to deploy than the cones deputies previously used. A closure that could take up to 20 minutes to set up can now be put in place in less than 20 seconds.
WisDOT says the Swift Gate was used during recent Brewers playoff games and a stadium watch party and worked quite well.
Milwaukee County Sheriff warns fans about no-drone zone
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is reminding World Series fans that drones are not allowed around American Family Field during games.
According to a post from the Sheriff’s Office, the FAA has established a three-mile temporary flight restriction around the stadium. The restriction applies during all World Series games, beginning one hour before each game and continuing until one hour after the game ends.

No drones or other unauthorized aircraft are permitted inside the restricted area.
Violators may face FAA fines and additional penalties. Fans can check active restrictions and specific dates and times at tfr.faa.gov.
The Sheriff’s Office message is simple: enjoy the World Series, but leave the drone at home.
