MILWAUKEE — The runner who died after collapsing during the Milwaukee Lakefront Half Marathon on Sunday has been identified as John Meise of Waukesha.
Meise, 36, leaves behind a wife and four children, according to a Meal Train fundraiser set up for his family.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office said Meise had no medical history of health conditions and his cause of death has not been determined.
A GoFundMe was also set up to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, and provide support for the Meise family’s immediate and ongoing needs.
