FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis.– An arrest was made Friday in a murder case spanning over 3 decades.
The Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says 83-year-old Jerome Baier was arrested Friday morning at his home near Spencer in central Wisconsin for the murder of his former roommate James Ruland.
Ruland was last seen in October of 995.
His remains were never found, however, investigators say new forensic testing and follow-up interviews helped establish the probable cause needed for an arrest.
Baier is currently in custody for first-degree intentional homicide.
He is expected to appear in Fond du Lac County court Monday morning.
