KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Less than 24 hours after having his law license suspended by Wisconsin’s Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR), Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis can practice law again.
According to a memo to 620 WTMJ from the OLR, Solis’ suspension was lifted effective immediately on September 15. The OLR says information relating to its investigations is confidential, so further details would not be released beyond what is sent via the public notices.
The Wisconsin State Bar has updated Solis’ status as well on its website.
Solis had his law license suspended on September 14 for “willfully failing to cooperate with one or more OLR investigations into alleged misconduct”. He has faced scrutiny after taking office in January 2025 without having prior prosecutorial experience, and a judge in February threw out a court filing submitted by Solis saying it contained undisclosed use of AI and made-up legal citations.
