MILWAUKEE — Five workers safely evacuated after a fire broke out at the We Energies Valley Power Plant in Milwaukee early Tuesday morning.

The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to the facility near 6th and Canal around 1:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire on the roof of the facility.

We Energies says five employees evacuated the facility safely and no injuries were reported.

The utility says the fire did not affect operations and the facility continues to operate normally.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
