KENOSHA, Wis. — Wisconsin’s Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) suspends Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis‘ law license.

In a memo obtained by 620 WTMJ and published on September 14, the OLR cites Solis’ “willfully failing to cooperate with one or more OLR investigations into alleged misconduct” as the reason for the suspension, but did not provide any details into the investigations.

In a statement from the Kenosha County DA’s office to 620 WTMJ, Deputy District Attorney Rosamaria Delgado will be taking over the office’s operations:

On the morning of Monday, September 14, 2026, the Supreme Court of Wisconsin suspended the law license of Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis.  Administrative staff of the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office and I will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the office.  We have reached out to the State for direction.  I will take over management and / or reassignment of District Attorney Solis’ caseload until such time as District Attorney Solis’ license to practice law is reinstated or, until further direction is received from the Governor’s Office.  At this time, no other information is available.

Solis was a criminal defense attorney when he was elected to be District Attorney in November 2024, running as a Republican and narrowly defeating his opponent by just 2.5% to replace retiring DA Mike Graveley.
