KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis.– Three people are in custody after two separate multi-state car chases injuring two Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputies.
According to a criminal complaint, deputies approached two pick-up trucks near a Walmart in Somers Wednesday to attempt to make arrests, when one rammed into a squad car.
Both vehicles then fled the scene.
The first truck crashed into another vehicle, driven by Sable Russell and her passenger, Ace Frank. Three people were minorly injured.
The second truck was allegedly stopped just past the Illinois border, before the driver, Cody Frank, hid in a nearby cornfield and was eventually caught.
All three suspects had warrants out for their arrest in multiple states for theft, burglary, and drugs.
A search of the vehicles produced evidence of drug trafficking and burglaries including communication equipment, tools, jewelry, narcotics, fake IDs, and almost $12,000 in cash.
Two deputies were injured in the incidents, one was treated for potential fentanyl exposure.
Charges are referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office.
