MILWAUKEE — A new class of 24 cadets has graduated from the Milwaukee Fire Academy, now moving on to recruit class.
The class of cadets is the first to have all passed the National Registry of EMTs Paramedic Exam, which means every member is a certified paramedic. Passing the rigorous course was a graduation requirement.
“In ​recent years we’ve had difficulty getting everybody to pass. All ​24 ​of ​these ​folks ​passed. ​It ​is ​absolutely ​incredible,” says Fire Chief Aaron Lipski. “​What ​it ​really ​means ​for ​Milwaukee ​is ​that ​we’ve ​got ​24 ​more ​folks ​that ​can ​provide ​the ​highest ​level ​of ​pre- ​hospital ​emergency ​care ​​for ​your ​illness, ​your ​injury, ​anything ​that ​happens, ​we ​are ​better ​equipped ​to ​do ​that ​now.”
The recruits will be officially sworn in this November.
