MILWAUKEE— Milwaukee police are searching for the driver who fled after a deadly crash on the city’s north side Tuesday evening.
According to police, the crash happened around 7 p.m. near Green Bay and Glendale Avenue.
Investigators say a vehicle traveling north on Green Bay Avenue at a high rate of speed crashed into another vehicle carrying two people.
A 50-year-old passenger in the second vehicle suffered critical injuries and later died at a local hospital.
Police said the 36-year-old driver of that vehicle was taken into custody on charges related to the incident. Authorities have not released additional information about those potential charges.
The driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived and has not been identified.
Milwaukee police continue to investigate the crash.
