Milwaukee police search for driver after two people killed in hit-and-run

(Update at 4:20 p.m. on 7/13/26) MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two victims as 48-year-old May Daiber of Wausau and 49-year-old Amy Austin of Milwaukee.

The medical examiner said the two women were crossing the road when they were struck by two vehicles that were “racing.” One of the victims was possibly hit twice. They both died at the scene.


MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Milwaukee police are searching for the driver of a black SUV after two pedestrians were killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s north side late Sunday night.

The crash happened around 11:12 p.m. near North Teutonia Avenue and West Vienna Street.

Investigators say a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck two people who were crossing the street before fleeing the area.

The victims, a 49-year-old and a 48-year-old, died at the scene.

MPD did not provide a suspect description or additional details about the black SUV.
