MILWAUKEE — 18-year-old Hunter Meyer was allegedly driving in circles in a parking lot near Edison Street and Knapp Street around 2:15 a.m. on July 5th.
Milwaukee Police were dispatched to a crowd control situation in the Water Street District, when they heard gunshots from the area.
Meyer was told to stop and exit the vehicle when he sped off, nearly striking several officers before running one over.
The officer was taken to the hospital for nonfatal injuries. Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said in a press conference Tuesday the officer is physically okay.
Meyer eventually crashed and fled on foot, before he was taken into custody.
He is facing ten charges, nine felonies and one misdemeanor, including recklessly endangering safety, party to a crime with use of a dangerous weapon, hit and run causing injury, carrying a concealed weapon, and fleeing an officer.
If convicted, he could face up to 82 years and 3 months in prison and could be fined up to $205,000.
