On Thursday, the Milwaukee Public Museum shared footage of the first exhibit to move into the new Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin.
A 20-foot-long canoe was previously on display at Milwaukee Public Museum had to be craned into the new building through a fourth floor window before the window’s glass was installed. The boat is a replica of a canoe carved by the Haida, an Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest and will go on display in the Living in a Dynamic World gallery.
The new museum is expected to open in the Spring 2027.
