MILWAUKEE— DanDan has reopened after a temporary closure ordered by the City of Milwaukee Health Department.
Health officials say the restaurant was shut down Friday after pest activity was observed during a routine inspection. A follow-up inspection found no signs of pests, and the restaurant was cleared to reopen Monday morning.
Chef Dan Jacobs said the restaurant received a strong score during the re-inspection and addressed the issue immediately. In a statement, he emphasized that cleanliness and food safety remain top priority.

“We are back open today! We are pleased to share that DanDan passed our follow up health inspection this morning at 8am after temporarily closing on Friday.
We received an excellent score on our health inspection but closed to deal with a minor matter. Cleanliness and food safety are non-negotiable for us. We appreciate the community’s trust and are committed to earning it every day.”
DanDan is the third restaurant in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward to be temporarily closed for health-related issues in the past month. Other establishments have also since reopened after passing inspections.
