OAK CREEK, Wis. — The mother of a teenager who went missing for 6 days in Oak Creek pleads guilty to felony interference with child custody.
37-year-old Luisa Asala‘s trial was supposed to start on October 20, when a resolution was reached in court. She changed her plea to guilty in a deal.
Asala’s 13-year-old daughter Lillian was reported missing on March 1, leaving the house near South Pennsylvania Avenue and East Forest Hill Avenue on foot with no belongings around 4:30 p.m. Oak Creek Police found her phone at the Abendschein Skate Park near Drexel and Clement in Oak Creek on March 2.

Oak Creek Police located Asala found on March 7 at a friend’s home in Watertown, after searching Asala’s phone records.
Luisa Asala later admitted to detectives she had taken her daughter to a friend’s house. The 13-year-old was in good health and physically unharmed. Luisa Asala does not have primary custody of the teen.
The court accepted Asala’s guilty plea and changed her cash bail amount of $20,000 into a signature bond.
Asalas’ sentencing is set for October 22, with a restitution hearing set for December 11.
