MILWAUKEE — A woman is facing 1st degree reckless homicide charges after allegedly stabbing her cousin on Milwaukee’s south side last month.
19-year-old Rae’Jianna Hall is accused of killing Jaquveon Wright on the afternoon of September 29 at their home on S. 22nd Street near the Mitchell Park Domes.
According to a criminal complaint, Hall and Wright were arguing over Wright not helping her in getting a job at Taco Bell. Then Write had “gotten up” in her face so “she grabbed some ‘mace’ and a knife.”
Hall then said Wright came into her room, punched her, and caused her to fall back on her bed. Then she “raised her hand with the knife in it which had been situated by her leg on the outside of her body. As she did this she cut her own leg. She raised the knife over her head with the handle in her hand and the knife pointing down and stabbed [Wright]. [He] realiz[ed] had been stabbed got up and ran out of the room”.
Wright later collapse on the ground and died from his injuries.
Police say Hall initially admitted to the stabbing, but later said she didn’t mean to do it, and it was self defense.
Cash bond is set at $100,000. Hall is due back in court on October 14th. If convicted, she could face up to 60 years in prison.
