For the first time in five days, Wisconsin’s daily new COVID-19 case count was below 2,000.
The Department of Health Services report 1,865 new positive cases for Sunday, October 4, 2020. This was from 10,815 new cases analyzed over the past 24 hours.
That puts the percentage of daily positive cases for Sunday at 17.2-percent. This also helps to keep the rolling seven-day average for percent positive just above 17-percent.
Since the pandemic began, 132,663 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported. 24,264 of them remain active as of Sunday.
State health officials also reported five more deaths due to COVID-19 Sunday. That raises the total number of deaths from the virus during the pandemic to 1,377.
Hospitalizations continue to run around record-highs during the pandemic Sunday at 714 patients.
