A popular Christmastime display in Beaver Dam’s Swan Park is hit by vandals.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s office says approximately $3,000 in damage was caused to several light displays, trees, and a newly constructed gingerbread house.
The Sheriff’s office says it believes that golf carts were used to destroy the property.
This year’s damage comes just a couple of days before the light display was set to come active and marks the third time in as many years that vandals have damaged the display.
Interquest of Beaver Dam is working with the Sheriff and Rotary Lights to install security cameras and WIFI at the park. Interquest has agreed to donate the vast majority of the funds required to implement this system which would provide 24/7 camera coverage and WIFI in the park, year round.
If anyone has any information as to the identity of the perpetrators, we encourage them to reach out to the Beaver Dam Police Department.
