Milwaukee’s taverns could close an hour and a half before sunrise during the Democratic National Convention, according to a report.
The Milwaukee Business Journal says that the Wisconsin Restaurant Association is connecting with Govenor Tony Evers and key members of the Wisconsin Legislature to push for the move.
“It behooves us to do it now and not wait till next year,” Hillmer told the Business Journal.
“We don’t want to give the impression that we roll up the sidewalks at midnight…we have to get our heads around the idea everything’s going to be different.”
The move would involve Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha and Washington Counties at least. It would allow owners to decide their own bar time so long as it was 4 a.m. or earlier.
