A journeyman pitcher who has been with four Major League teams hopes to add a fifth to his resume, the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Brewers announced Monday they have signed Shelby Miller to a minor league contract, and are inviting him to Major League spring training in February at Maryvale, Ariz.
Miller has eight years of experience and a 38-56 record (.404 win percentage) with a 4.11 ERA.
His first three years were dramatic successes with the St. Louis Cardinals, with a combined 26-18 record and a 3.33 ERA in 69 games and 63 starts.
But since then, he has been 12-38 with a 4.84 ERA with the Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers.
