He used to try to beat Anthony Rizzo (pictured) and the Chicago Cubs while with the Milwaukee Brewers. Now, he’s reportedly joined the “North Siders.”
MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reports that Jonathan Lucroy has joined the Cubs. USA TODAY’S Bob Nightengale says the move came after Lucroy cleared waivers following injury with the Los Angeles Angels this year.
A two-time All-Star while with Milwaukee, Lucroy helped the Brewers reach the 2011 postseason where they came within six wins of a World Series title.
He hit .284 with 79 home runs and 376 RBI in his six-plus seasons with the Brewers, leading the Major Leagues with 53 doubles during 2014.
The Brewers traded him to Texas in 2016. He lated played for Colorado in 2017, Oakland in 2018 and the Angels this year before his injury in July from a collision at home plate.
