The Houston Texans have closed their facility after a player tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The positive test comes after Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
“[The Packers] will definitely be on a high alert,” said ESPN Milwaukee’s Mark Tauscher on Wisconsin’s Afternoon News. “Most teams have had some sense of a positive test…but we have not seen [the virus] carry across the line of scrimmage.”
Tauscher credits the NFL’s ability so far to be diligent with testing and isolation methods, but that’s not to say it won’t still be on the minds of players this week.
“You’re in the middle of a season that you think has championship aspirations, you’re playing great football, you have to stay disciplined,” he said. “A couple of slip-ups and it can spread quickly, and all of a sudden your season is in jeopardy. That’s something that I’m sure everybody is talking about on a regular basis within that locker room.”
