Living in Nashville for the last year and a half, Hannah Irwin says the threat of a tornado near her downtown apartment was something she had never thought about. Until this morning.
“I woke up to sirens and immediately jumped up and tried to go out my patio door, and I couldn’t even open up my patio door because the wind was so strong,” Irwin tells WTMJ.

As of 11:45 this morning police in Nashville say at least 22 people were killed during the storms. Between one and two o’clock this morning the National Weather Service says three tornadoes were reported spanning across 145 miles.
