TAMPA — The Milwaukee Brewers head into Game 3 of the World Series with a 2-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays and a familiar face waiting on the mound.
Former Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta is set to face Milwaukee as the series shifts to Tropicana Field. WTMJ’s Greg Matzek gave his ‘scouting report’ from Florida ahead of Game 3 on Wisconsin’s Morning News on Monday.
Matzek said Milwaukee has handled road games well this postseason, going 3-1 away from home, but noted the Rays had 55 home wins during the regular season.
The Brewers could have an advantage if they drive up Peralta’s pitch county early, according to Matzek, who pointed to Milwaukee’s ability to extend at-bats and challenge opposing bullpens.
“The Brewers lineup is not a great matchup for Freddy because they grind you down,” Matzek said.
Matzek also reported seeing Brewers fans throughout the Tampa Bay area ahead of Game 3, including several on his flight to Florida.
“They brought their rally towels from World Series game one and we joked that maybe the Rays should give out yellow rally towels at the stadium tonight, just so you can’t see how many Brewers fans are there,” Matzek said.
World Series coverage continues on WTMJ, with Game 3 broadcast beginning right here at 6:30 p.m.
