One of YouTube’s most well-known baseball storytellers took to Miller Park for a major pennant race game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
And the crazy part was, he didn’t even know he would be there at the start of the day!
Zack Hample has built an audience of more than 448,000 YouTube subscribers through his constant chase of baseballs at MLB parks. He travels all over in the effort to find them – going to MLB games this year in Europe and Japan.
His plan on Sunday, Sept. 8 was to go to the Chicago White Sox game that day, but rain scuttled his plan.Â
Instead, while sitting in the Guaranteed Rate Field parking lot, Hample and his videographer chose to drive up I-94 to see Brewers-Cubs – the final, critical game of their four-game series.
It’s not like he hasn’t been to Miller Park before. But this was an extra treat – a full crowd for a playoff atmosphere.
He took in the Miller Park experience, replete with bratwurst from the stand right behind home plate on the first deck. He enjoyed the Sausage Race, did the Jump Around with Barrelman and took in so much of the Brewers experience – mainly while standing right near the WTMJ broadcast booth with Bob Uecker & Jeff Levering.
And at the end of the game, his chase was complete – getting a ball from the home plate umpire after the final out.
He did Miller Park right.
