MILWAUKEE – With the trade deadline Thursday at 5pm CT, there are just hours left for the Milwaukee Brewers to swing any deals.
“Today is going to be a very busy day,” Senior VP and GM Matt Arnold told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News on Thursday. “(Trades) evolve throughout the season. We try to do a lot of work before today. When we acquired Danny Jansen, or Andrew Vaughn, or Quinn Priester, etc. Adding guys to the mix isn’t something that just happens today, it happens throughout the course of the season.”

While the Brewers would appear to be buyers, Arnold did acknowledge a team can be both a buyer *and* a seller.
“You can still add future wins by trading players off your major league team,” he explained. “We get a ton of calls (from general managers) which I think is a good thing.”
While Arnold is busy fielding calls, he’ll have one eye on his son’s little league team. The Whitefish Bay U13 team is playing in California Thursday afternoon in the Intermediate World Series.
My son is having a blast. I’m super proud of that team,” Arnold said. “I’m happy for the coaches. They have such a good team and the kids are such good friends.”
When asked if he’s the parent who texts the coach demanding his kid move up in the line-up, Arnold said “I will never do that, I just want him to learn how to be a good teammate.”
