MILWAUKEE – While the MLB Wild Card Round gets underway Tuesday, the top-seeded Brewers will need to patient. The Crew begins their playoff run on Saturday at American Family Field, facing either the Chicago Cubs or San Diego Padres. In the meantime, the team will be back at the ballpark with some “intensity and intent,” according to manager Pat Murphy.
“(Tuesday) gets a little uncomfortable. You gotta shake ’em up a little bit,” Murphy told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News. “We need to turn it on. We lost the edge a little bit (after we clinched). We gotta recapture that (intensity).”
In order to have a successful playoff run, the players need to be reminded of what they accomplished, the manager said.
“We’re beat up but how did we win 97 games?” the skipper mused. “What was it? It was the guys in the room. These guys find a way to win. I think they will again. That’s what I believe.”
