First Stage Theater is bringing a bilingual production of Go, Dog. Go! Director Michelle LoRicco joins What’s On Tap to preview the play.
The show brings P.D. Eastman’s classic early-reader book to the stage as a playful adventure filled with dogs, cars, roller coasters, music and movement. Presented in English and Spanish, the production encourages young audiences and families to embrace language learning while celebrating Milwaukee’s Latino community. LoRicco discusses the importance of representation and the experience of having Latino and Latina performers share their culture and language on stage.
Go, Dog. Go! runs Oct. 3 through Nov. 1 at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center as part of First Stage’s 40th anniversary season.
