Do our elected leaders need to be more…good looking?
That’s the question a USA Today article sparked for Steve and Kristin — and it quickly turned into a debate about Washington, D.C.’s long-standing reputation as “Hollywood for ugly people” (or, as Steve put it, a “The city of no action”).
They go back and forth on whether appearance actually matters, tossing out names of politicians they find attractive, interesting, or just seem like they’d be a good hang. (No, they’re not trying to marry them.)
It raises a bigger question: is this really about being “sexy,” or just making politics feel more relatable — maybe even cool again?
At the end of the day, looks probably aren’t deciding elections. Policy still matters most. But as they both admit, perception — including how candidates present themselves — isn’t nothing either.
