As the forest floor begins to show signs of life with the ice slowly melting away on our inland rivers and lakes, WTMJ Outdoors rolls on into Spring with some great conversations this week.
WTMJ Outdoors is presented by Outdoor Living Unlimited, THE destination to turn your yard into your own personal oasis.
Pete Jensen, a State of Wisconsin Certified Emergency Manager and author, joined Steve Scaffidi to discuss his article in the current edition of the Lake Tides Newsletter on the life jacket loaner program, including a way for communities to solicit in-kind donations and build their very own unique loaner stations.Â
Keri Beck, one of our favorite guests from Langlade County and the Associate Director of the Langlade County Economic Development Corporation, visited the show to detail many of their tourism-related events, spotlighting their incredible summer activities schedule and explaining why they’re called the County of Trails.
Sara Windjue, Leadership and Capacity Development Specialist for the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, stopped by WTMJ Outdoors on behalf of the UWSP Extension Lakes team to highlight their upcoming Lakes and Rivers Convention. Sara noted a unique opportunity this year to join the convention digitally to sample their great speakers and topics.Â
WTMJ Outdoors airs every weekend on 620 WTMJ, and is also available on the podcast page.
Steve Scaffidi is also the host of Point Taken along with Kristin Brey on 620 WTMJ, which airs Monday-Friday, 10-Noon, on 620 WTMJ. You can subscribe to their newsletter Extra Points here.
