Connection between strangers. It happens when we attend a game for our favorite team or even just talk about the game we love. It can also happen when we realize unexpected bonds, particularly those that come from shared suffering.
This week, Milwaukee Bucks legend Jon McGlocklin had the chance to share time with one of Honor Flight’s Vietnam veterans, Milwaukee’s Jose Ruiz. They not only shared their love of basketball, but the unique ways each of them served their country. Jose also offered the ways his Honor Flight experience has helped to greater healing in his life and connection to his family.
WTMJ and Stars and Stripes Honor Flight are helping to honor those who served our country through the experience of sending Vietnam veterans and other vets from Southeastern Wisconsin to their monuments in Washington, D.C. They’re holding a major event with the Milwaukee Bucks to help the cause.
