An endless off-roading adventure in central Wisconsin
Find your fixing for off-road fun in the Black River Falls area this autumn. The community in Jackson County is at the heart of a sprawling off-road trail network for ATVs and UTVs.
Jackson County boasts over 100 miles of trails, while neighboring Clark County offers riders another 135 miles to explore. Start your adventure at Black River State Forest — a heavily wooded property just outside Black River Falls. Plan your trip soon; the Jackson County trails are anticipated to close by October 26.
Bear Bogging Adventure Tours will get you geared up for the trip, too. The outfitter provides rentals in Black River Falls, Warrens and Hatfield. A ride through cheese country in southern Wisconsin
Get the engine — and your stomach — revving on a visit to southern Wisconsin’s Cheese Country Recreation Trail. This 47-mile trail traverses three counties, connecting the community of Mineral Point on one end to Monroe on the other.
It’s a picturesque route for riding throughout October; the leaves typically peak toward the end of the month. The Cheese Country Recreation Trail lives up to its name, too! You’ll find plenty of snacking options along the route, especially in Monroe.
Here, swing into Alp and Dell for a wide selection of locally produced cheese, sausage and gifts. Don’t forget to visit the viewing hall on weekdays and select Saturdays. Peer into the adjacent Emmi Roth factory and savor the sight of award-winning cheese being made.
