WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News defines an EVERYDAY HERO as “an average Jon/Jane Doe who, when they woke up one morning, had no idea they’d be saving a life.”

In San Antonio, Rene Villarreal-Albe was driving on the interstate when he and his wife noticed an SUV out of control. The driver had suffered a medical episode and the vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic and bouncing off a concrete barrier, reported KENS 5 CBS.
Villarreal-Albe said he immediately recognized the danger.
“I just saw somebody that looked like they were in some type of medical condition and it made me feel like I needed to help,”he told KENS 5 TV. “I have good critical thinking and I just thought about it and I decided to just get in front of him and slow him down.”
Villarreal-Albe used his truck to slow the vehicle to a stop. A nurse also stopped and performed CPR on the driver. He was reportedly breathing when taken to the hospital.
