Some families in Wisconsin will need to make quick adjustments in the wake of the latest state order to keep people safe during the current COVID-19 situation.
The latest directive from the State of Wisconsin is leading child care providers to cap their care to 50 children at one time, with only 10 staff at one time.
The state says that child care centers must comply by 8 a.m. Thursday morning, and will remain in effect until the public health emergency is over.
“Child care is an essential service for many of the folks working on the front lines to provide healthcare and vital services to our communities during the COVID-19 outbreak,” said Gov. Evers in a statement.
“This is another step forward to ensure that service continues, while protecting our child care providers who are going above and beyond their regular duties to support our families, communities, and state.”
“If you are able, keeping your kids at home is one of the actions you can take to have the most impact,” he added.
“I also want to recognize the child care providers around the state who are stepping up to support our communities– we appreciate your service during this challenging time.”
