MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Police take a person for a mental health evaluation after the individual was seen walking naked near an elementary school on Milwaukee’s northwest side.
Police responded around 10:00 a.m. on October 6 to a report by a City of Milwaukee employee that a person who was not wearing any clothing walking in the neighborhood near William Cullen Bryant Elementary School near N. 91st Street and W. Thurston Avenue.
School officials confirmed that while the person was seen by several students, the individual never entered school grounds and was not affiliated with the school.
Officers were able to locate the person, and took them to a mental health emergency center for evaluation.
School officials sent the following letter home to parents:
Dear Bryant Families and Staff,
We value you as a member of our school community, and we want you to know about a situation that took place today.
This morning, an individual who is not connected to the school was walking in the neighborhood without clothing. The person was not on school grounds at any time. Some of our students did see the person for a short time. A City of Milwaukee worker in the area came to school and told us that he reported the person to the Milwaukee Police Department.
We wanted you to be aware of what happened today.
