MILWAUKEE — Four people, including two Milwaukee police officers, were taken to the hospital following an early morning crash involving a school bus on the city’s northwest side.
The crash happened around 4:43 a.m. Tuesday near 35th and Center streets. MPD says the traffic lights at the intersection were not working because they had been vandalized.
According to police, a vehicle traveling west on Center Street and a school bus traveling south on 35th Street collided in the intersection. The impact sent the bus into a marked MPD squad car that was parked on Center Street with its emergency lights activated.
A 29-year-old officer and 32-year-old officer were taken to the hospital. The 62-year-old driver of the other vehicle and a 48-year-old passenger on the bus were also hospitalized with injuries described as minor.
The 69-year-old bus driver and another passenger were not hurt. No other injuries were reported.
Milwaukee police are investigating the crash.
