OAK CREEK, Wis. — Oak Creek police are searching for a person of interest after an incident at a motel prompted a lockdown at the nearby Milwaukee Area Technical College campus Wednesday night.
Police say the investigation began around 8 p.m. at the Motel 6 near West College Avenue and South 13th Street. Investigators believe the incident involved two people.
Around 9 p.m., MATC’s public safety team was notified that police were searching the area for an armed suspect. The college placed its Oak Creek campus on lockdown as a precaution.
Police searched the surrounding area, but MATC said there were no confirmed sightings of the suspect on campus.
The lockdown was lifted around 9:40 p.m., and normal campus operations resumed.
Oak Creek police have released surveillance images of a person they are trying to identify in connection with the investigation.
