MILWAUKEE — Silk on Water says they are temporarily closing due to ongoing violence in the Water Street entertainment district.
“This is a decision we never wanted to make, but there comes a point when you have to put people ahead of business,” the owner(s) said. “Our employees matter. Our customers matter. Their safety comes before revenue.”
The business says they will evaluate reopening in early November.
They’re calling for an increased police presence, as well as more coordinated effort from city leaders to reduce violence on Water Street.
