MILWAUKEE–Within 24 hours, police arrested two men involved in separate U-Haul truck crashes in Milwaukee.
The first driver was arrested after a police chase in a stolen U-Haul truck on Monday, August 10.
Officers attempted to stop the stolen truck around 11:19 p.m near 28th and Townsend.
The driver fled police, eventually crashing into a parked car near 37th and Florist on Milwaukee’s northwest side.
Milwaukee Police arrested the 53-year-old man after a short pursuit on foot.
Less than a day later, Milwaukee Police arrested a second man on August 11, who crashed a U-Haul truck into a light pole near Milwaukee’s Brewers Hill.
Officers responded to a different call near Holton and Garfield around 5:29 p.m. Tuesday night, when they saw the truck drive through a parking lot.
The truck proceeded to hit a gas pump and crashed into a street pole at the intersection of Holton and North.
The driver was taken to the hospital before being arrested.
A 43-year-old man is in custody.
Milwaukee Police did not say if the two crashes were related.
Criminal charges are pending for both men at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
