UPDATE at 12:15 p.m. on 3/16/2026: The City of Milwaukee is suspending garbage and recycling collection for Monday, March 16. Residents should leave their carts at their normal collection point until they are collected.
The garbage and recycling schedule has also been shifted for the City of Waukesha:
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley has declared a Snow Emergency for county employees. All non-essential departments are closed including the courthouse, Vel R. Phillips Youth and Family Justice Center, Milwaukee County Zoo, and most services at the the Marcia P. Coggs Health and Human Services Center. Certain essential services will continue.
The City of Milwaukee plans to have city departments open at a delayed start time of 10 a.m. on Monday.
Waukesha County and Racine County offices and courthouse are closed.
The City of Racine declared a Snow Emergency through Tuesday, with no parking allowed on either side of highways, arteria, and collector streets. Residents should park on the even side of the street until 6 a.m. Monday and the odd side of the street from 6 a.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The City of Waukesha has issued a Snow Emergency starting at 10 p.m. Sunday through 4 p.m. Monday. No parking is allowed on any city streets. Overnight parking is available at two parking ramps in Downtown Waukesha at the Transit Center on 212 E St. Paul Ave. and at 241 South Street.
