MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police officers are one step closer to a new contract.
The Finance and Personnel committee on Monday moved forward a resolution to ratify and confirm the final agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Police Association.
The Milwaukee Police Association, the union for Milwaukee police officers, approved the new contract last month.
The proposed contract includes across-the-board wage increases, full retroactive pay for officers working between 2023 and 2025, a 15.01% compounded pay increase through 2026, and guarantees protection from furloughs of officers through at least 2028.
The agreement comes after a labor agreement between the union and the city expired in December of 2022.Â
The proposed contract now heads to the Milwaukee Common Council for a vote at its November 25 meeting.
