MILWAUKEE — Convicted murderer Maxwell Anderson has been ordered to pay $92,896.09 in restitution to the family of Sade Robinson.
A judge ordered Anderson to pay nearly $54,000 of that directly to Robinson’s mother, father and sister. Anderson is serving a life sentence for killing and dismembering her in April 2024.
Nearly $38,000 of restitution goes to the Victim Compensation Program for funeral costs, Robinson’s phone and car, and her mother’s graduate school fees.
“There is no amount of restitution that can ever replace my daughter,” her mother, Sheena Scarbrough said during Thursday’s hearing. “The loss that I feel every day is something that can’t be measured in dollars.”
Anderson is serving his life sentence without the possibility of parole in an out-of-state prison. Any wages that he earns in prison will go to Robinson’s family.
More restitution could be awarded to Robinson’s family in a separate wrongful death lawsuit that’s still pending. A motion hearing in that case is set for Nov. 7.
Anderson began the appeals process for his criminal conviction in August by filing a Notice of Intent to Pursue Post-Conviction Relief.
