MILWAUKEE — Public concern over inflation is rising as President Trump’s approval ratings dip, according to a new Marquette Law School Poll.
The survey finds 43% of adults approve of the job Trump is doing, while 57% disapprove. His approval is down slightly from previous months, reflecting growing unease about the economy.
The poll also highlights Americans’ financial worries: 60% of respondents believe Trump’s policies will increase inflation over the next year, while 42% report they believe grocery prices have risen significantly in the past six months. Only 20% say they feel better off financially than a year ago.
Partisan perspectives differ sharply. 61% of Republicans think Trump’s policies will help reduce inflation, while 95% of Democrats and 54% of independents believe his policies will make inflation worse.
A majority remain pessimistic about the near future: 65% except inflation and the cost of living to increase over the next 12 months, while 18% anticipate a decrease.
The poll shows that while Trump’s overall approval is slipping, public worry about the economy — particularly inflation and everyday expenses — remains a central issue for Americans today.
