WASHINGTON D.C. — The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service is reporting a listeria outbreak in packaged frozen meals that were both sold in Walmart and Trader Joes.
Items sold at Walmart include 12-oz. clear plastic tray packages labeled āMARKETSIDE LINGUINE WITH BEEF MEATBALLS & MARINARA SAUCEā with ābest if used byā dates SEP 22, 2025; SEP 24, 2025; SEP 25, 2025; SEP 29, 2025; SEP 30, 2025; and OCT 01, 2025. The product bears establishment number āEST. 50784ā or “EST. 47718” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
As for items sold at Trader Joes, the USDA is asking for consumers to look out for 16-oz. plastic tray packages labeled āTRADER JOEāS CAJUN STYLE BLACKENED CHICKEN BREAST FETTUCINE ALFREDOā with ābest if used byā dates 9/20/2025, 9/24/2025, or 9/27/2025 printed on the front label of the packaging. The product bears establishment number āP- 45288ā inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The comes following another listeria outbreak that took place in June where cases were linked to packages of chicken alfredo fettucine.
Both the USDA and CDC advice that people who have such meals still in their freezer should throw them away.
