MILWAUKEE — The father of the man convicted for murdering and dismembering a teen after a first date back in April 2024 has been dismissed from his son’s wrongful death lawsuit.
Milwaukee County Judge Glenn Yamihiro dismissed Steven Anderson from the civil lawsuit filed by the family of Sade Robinson. The 19 year old died and was dismembered after a first date with Anderson’s son Maxwell in April 2024.
Maxwell Anderson was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in Anderson’s death.
In court on August 19, Judge Yamihiro found “excusable neglect” in the failure to serve Steven Anderson in the civil case, and ordered dismissal without prejudice. “I do find that there were things that were not done here that should have been done, but on balance, I don’t find that warrants a dismissal with prejudice,” Yamihiro said in court.
The current dismissal leaves open the possibility of refiling the case against Steven Anderson in the future.
A status conference for the civil case is set for September 17 at 9:30 a.m.
