UPDATE 8/7/25 10:55 PM: The Milwaukee Police Association provided an update on the condition of the two injured officers.
One officer is recovering in the hospital with second and third degree burns, and the other officer was treated for smoke inhalation.

MILWAUKEE — A 17-year-old is dead after a vehicle pursuit led to a car fire on Milwaukee’s north side.
The Milwaukee Police Department said officers observed a vehicle driving recklessly and wanted for a felony around 7:17 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of N 19th Street and W Hampton Ave., but the 17-year-old driver refused and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
The teenage struck a tree in the 1900 block of West Hampton and the car went up in flames.
Milwaukee police said the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
