UPDATE 7/17/25 11 p.m. – Oconomowoc Police say 49-year-old Matthew Brennecke was taken into custody Thursday night.

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Oconomowoc Police need the public’s help to find a hit-and-run suspect.
An arrest warrant is out for 49-year-old Matthew Brennecke. He’s wanted in connection to a hit-and-run incident on July 14 near Allen Road and Orchard Circle.
87-year-old Allan Eighmy was riding his tractor home after mowing grass at a local church when he was hit by a car just after 1:00 p.m. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries, and died two days later.
Brennecke fled the scene in a 2008 black Volvo XC-90 with the license plate: AYL-2899. He’s being charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in great bodily harm.

According to police, Brennecke has a “striking tribal tattoo originating from his left upper bicep and extending to cover his hand. Though he is thought to reside in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, we know he could be anywhere.”
